WASHINGTON -- Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) Americans and those perceived to be so have long asserted that they face discrimination in the workplace.  Anti-LGBT bias may affect decisions regarding hiring, compensation, terms of employment, and termination of employment. The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights’ briefing investigates the scope of federal protection against LGBT workplace discrimination, including 1) the federal government’s implementation of federal protections regarding workplace discrimination against federal LGBT employees and 2) Title VII workplace protections for all LGBT Americans.
